Well... I liked it, but... Let me start by saying that I don't review much, but I felt compelled to write on this one due to all of the five stars out there for Jeff Walker. I think there are a) either a lot of Jeff Walker zealots out there or b) there was some type of incentive to give Launch a 5-star review. A little background - I own a successful software company. We delve into all types of ventures -- I like the space and I'm intrigued by new ways to market our business. Everything from Pay Per Click (PPC) to Organic Search (SEO) to Email campaigns to Webinars to Blogs. We've done them all and continue to do so with success; however, we're learning every day. Jeff makes web marketing seem easy. You just connect the dots when it's time to make some money. Oh, btw, if it doesn't seem that easy to you sign up for Jeff's Product Launch Formula. This book is a soft sell for that product. If you finish this book and look back it's actually a step-by-step process of his outline for building authority, trust, suspense, etc. At the end I felt like I got played and just laughed to myself.Having said that, Jeff has ideas that may work. I'm not sure I'd use them, but they may work. His general premise is to compile a good list and give the users good content. Some of it for free before you hit them with your offer. Get some feedback and tweak it. To do this there are some general steps to follow. I believe I read this in a prior review: Jeff glances over the part about creating a good list. What if you don't have a good list? Well, that's easy! Just start calling on your social media friends to subscribe to your offering! Way back in my day when I started selling we called this 'The Friends and Family Plan'. Did you ever have a friend come to you because they just started selling insurance? Yeah, it's like that. The thing is, I like my friends, or at least most of them. So, unless you have a good list you're starting in the hole. There is another option: Jeff does give you some ideas on creating your lists. I'm not sure this is the method I would follow, but it's there. Build your lists and come back to this book when you've built up a solid base.I've read a ton of books on these types of subjects. Believe it or not, if you're into this type of marketing your may want to read the 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris. It's the same idea, but I liked it better. Here's the other thing that I've learned along the way: You don't have to do all of this yourself. It literally took me years to figure this out. There are plenty of freelance sites out there that you can source literally every step of this process for real cheap, and you take on a management role saving yourself a ton of time with better results.In short, I'm not saying I hated it. I'm merely saying that I most likely won't be using Jeff's ideas, nor will I be signing up for his Product Launch Formula.Update -- It looks like anything but 5-star reviews are getting pushed down by quick one or two sentence reviews that add nothing. Something is definitely going on here... Buyer beware

This book is horrible. It is not a guide on how to launch and sell "anything." It is only applicable to people selling online classes. There is very little information that you can take and apply to selling physical goods. The entire book is filled with case studies and examples of people making money but very little information on how they actually did it.Throughout the entire book, Jeff is pushing the idea of creating an email list (which is not a new concept at all) and his method will only work if you already have an established email list (100+ subscribers). He never gives any valuable information on how to create your list from scratch. It's funny that he calls the book "Launch" because this implies he will help you start your business in a big way but he spends the entire book preaching to established business owners.At one point he says that if you don't have an email list, you should use your social media contacts (i.e. friends and family). What if my friends and family aren't my target market? What if I don't want to just peddle product to people I know already? This is not new or valuable information.The worst part about the book is that it's filled with links to his website, where I assume he wants to sell you his class. This book doesn't include a secret formula at all. Most of it is regurgitated concepts you could easily find on any business blog. It serves as a teaser for his real product - the online class. This book shouldn't be sold at all. It should be free because it literally has no new information. Save your money.

I know Jeff Walker has built a very successful business coaching people through product launches. This book is an interesting and entertaining read. However, it lacks the depth necessary for you to truly have success if you are starting from scratch. Jeff talks about seed launches and launches from small lists, but this does assume you have some experience with internet marketing. If you are serious about starting a internet information marketing business, it might be smarter to get one-on-one coaching with an expert in this field. I know there are always exceptions, but I'm trying to be realistic with a potential reader that is thinking about buying this book.

He very plainly goes over the steps on how he does it, but not how to setup carts, websites, where to advertise, and even how to advertise. I will rarely say in these reviews on Amazon.com that that "only X type of person should read this" but this review is one exception. I think this book has so much information, so many great ideas and guidelines, and clan background that it is really only useful for storytellers and maybe wouldbe writers who like the "world of darkness". I think a player would get a lot of ideas, many of which would not be compatible with a story from this book so the best way to combat that and still allow Tremere and other magic using Kindred to develop would be for storyteller and player to look at this book together. I think it does a good job of detailing how to design paths and rituals, a sample worksheet might help in this regard, but also in talking about the limitations of the practice of bloodmagic.

I guess there are two ways to look at this book. First one would be background and resource for VTM games. I believe it sheds some light on a fact a lot of DMs hate to reveal, which is, it's okay to let other players use some thaumaturgical disciplines specialized for their clans if their background is correct. The second way is how many new things are introduced in the book. There are so many disciplines in there for mages from different clans. I really believe this is great, I love to see diversity in the game. The rituals there have been creatively put together. I think the book supplies excellent background for more stories and resources plus introduction of new disciplines and rituals. I highly recommend the book.

I can't say how it is because otherwise it won't be a secret

Great reference for thaumaturgy!

As an Elder of Clan Tremere (-or just a long term Tremere player), I was very pleased to see this new teatise for upcoming apprentices (-White Wolf publish a book dedicated to Thaumaturgy). This book isn't merely a long list of new and revamped rituals and paths (although it had its share),it is an explanation of what is unquestionably the most complicated discipline. I found the history of Blood Magic to be well thought out, as well as the discussion of "how it works". All in all, a MUST READ for any Tremere (-player, as well as anyone fond of thaumaturgy) apprentice.

This is a really good one and while it doesn't solve all the problems created by the past handling of Thaumaturgy in VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE, it goes a long way toward clarifying and further developing the discipline.The book discussed the history and theory of vampiric blood magic. We learn that it predates the Tremere, for example, and hear about basic principles of magical workings. There is discussion about the difference between a Tremere vampire and a True Mage (metaphysical, mostly, and assumes familiarity with MAGE- for more practical instructions on vampires and mages, see VAMPIRE: STORYTELLERS HANDBOOK), how non-Tremere might learn Thaumaturgy and some examples of arcane tomes. Most of it is clearly explained (with few exceptions like the unnecessarily ambiguous section about the difference between spirits and demons).There are welcome sections outlining the Koldunic sorcery of the Tzimisce (finally!) and voodoo-derived traditions of Necromancy. Both the Assamites and the Setites have their own traditions of blood magic, detailed here. There are paths derived from Alchemy and Kaballah. Biothaumatugy is recycled from SECRETS OF THE BLACK HAND.Unfortunately, while the material introduced here is superb, the book doesn't pull together the various little bits of Thaumaturgy scattered between VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE and VAMPIRE: DARK AGES. It just once again gives us more and better. It would have been nice, for example, to have an appendix showing which previously introduced paths and rituals are in which books. Furthermore, some storytellers seem intimidated about Thaumaturgy and disallow it as "too complicated". Step by step instructions (and a pep talk) might have been good, too. I should mention also that this book is about vampiric blood magic ONLY- no numinas or hedge magic more appropriate to allies like ghouls.

I bought one of these for my granddaughter. My 7 year old great-granddaughter found it and wanted one for herself. I told her that whenever she is having a problem and is feeling sad, she can read the book and remember how special she is. She took this to heart and loves reading the book.

My grand-daughter will love this book.

I love this book but it is more for an older Granddaughter, it has lots and lots of great advice.

The words in this book are so meaningful.... it will touch your heart every time you read it to your granddaughter. I just purchased it for my first granddaughter who is 10 months old. I will continue to read her this book, I hope that when she is old enough to read it on her own, it will always hold a special place in her heart.

As a grandmother I read book and loved every page - highlighted passages and granddaughter was sincerely touched and appreciative.

I shared some of this book with my seven year old granddaughter last night. She got tears in her eyes and hugged me! This book is priceless and will be a "keepsake!"

As a homeschooling mom of four, I work with vastly different learning styles in my home. My oldest has greatly enjoyed and thrives with Math Mammoth, as he got extremely bored with Saxon and other spiral programs. This program is ideal for children who want to move quickly and who are naturally good at math. My second, however was extremely discouraged from the very beginning of this program, and we switched to Horizons for a more gentle math curriculum. Math Mammoth will absolutely give your children an excellent foundation in math, provided it complements their learning style.

I'm currently trying to get my daughter out of this math curriculum. Instruction is lacking, progression too fast. Way too fast. This might be a good curriculum for students who naturally excel in math. But my third grader has struggled from the get go, taking upwards of 90 minutes to complete assignments (with assistance). Her previous years she did Go Math, which is the same kind of common core "new math" curriculum. So she should not have struggled as some do coming from old math- like Saxon. Its as dry as I imagine a math text book could possibly get- black and white print. The straw that broke the camels back for me was the use of money and counting back change and zero introduction to place value and decimals before expecting students to dive right in and work with tenths and hundredths like it was nothing new.update: I put my daughter in another program for 4th grade and can tell you that Math Mammoth failed to properly teach grade level division and place value.

I started my two home educated daughters on Math Mammoth last year, this will be my second Math Mammoth Worktext purchase. Following a very seasoned homeschool mom's suggestion, I started them out an entire level below where I thought they were at, since they'd never had formal curriculum. A really good reliable cookbook with interesting and well written explanations. The recipes I tried were tasty this is one of the best Jewish cookbooks around.

I could not believe this was a used book... I've purchased new books that have arrived more Beat up than this one did.. Great reading.. good recpies and loads of History... Thank's Matt.... Great Job...

I liked this for the wide variety of regional recipies. My cousin reccomended it and it didnt disappoint.

I simply bought this book expecting some mouth watering knish and blintzes recepies, lox and herring and you name it... real jewish foods. Instead, the author collected whatever the Jewish people ate, whether it belongs to the Jewish cuisine or not.. I mean "TABBOULEH" ??? and since when was Hummus or Kibbe a Jewish cuisine??It will take a lot of time to go through all of this, but if it is "just Jewish cuisine" you are looking for, this book is not for you. I gave the author 3 stars though, based on the "literature and history" information in each chapter. But then it is a cook book not a history book that I wanted. At $7 , used, it is fine... No more than that. And by the way, perhaps I missed it, but this book does not have ONE picture in it... Don't you love seeing what you are / will be eating ??

Today there are fewer than 2,000."As the "Food Maven" columnist at The Forward, Goodman used his reporting skills to search out diverse cuisines of far-flung, once vital centers of Jewish life, some now on the brink of extinction."What I tried to do with this book was to locate and preserve food traditions from communities around the world that are today endangered because the communities themselves are endangered," he said. "So many of them weren't able to survive the 20th century or survive only in the most attenuated form."More than 170 recipes, some of which have never before been written down, document the rich and varied Jewish culture of 29 countries, linked by law and ritual, yet distinguished by unique customs, traditions and celebrations, the history of a people told through its food.But what is Jewish food? The cinnamon and honey sauce, giulebbe, you find in a lot of Roman Jewish desserts. You can see the history of these people in this dish."And what would Passover be without macaroons? But, if you've tasted only the store-bought variety, you're in for a treat."The same way that gefilte fish has gotten a bad name because most people think it comes out of a jar, macaroons got a bad name because they think they come in those metal tins," noted Goodman. "Macaroons you make yourself are so much better and just phenomenally simple to make."The Pistachio Macaroons are made with rosewater, "a very common ingredient in Middle Eastern cooking, as are pistachios, and used a lot by Syrians," he said. "They're a nice alternative for people who want something a little different than the typical coconut macaroons."Sadly, some recipes are irretrievable, Goodman said."There are so few of these dishes left," he said. "It's really like an extinct species. So many generous people shared their recipes with me. Some in the New York area would invite me to their home and let me cook with them in their kitchen. It was just an amazingly moving experience for me. But with each recipe they'd give me, they'd say, `I wish you could have tried these other two that so-and-so used to do, but she died.' That dish is gone forever."Pizzarelle Con Giulebbe (Italian Matzah Fritters with Honey Syrup)Syrup1 cup honey1/2 cup water2 teaspoons ground cinnamonFritters5 matzahs, broken into small pieces1/4 cup sugar1/4 teaspoon kosher for Pesach vanillaPinch of salt1/4 cup raisins1/4 cup pine nuts3 egg yolks, lightly beaten2 egg whitesVegetable oil for deep frying1. Make the syrup: Combine the honey, water and cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cover and bring to a boil, then uncover, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring regularly. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour into a serving bowl.2. Make the batter: Place the matzah pieces in a bowl of cold water and soak until soft but not falling apart, one to two minutes. Drain in a colander and squeeze out any excess water. In a large bowl, mix together the matzah pieces, sugar, vanilla, salt, raisins, pine nuts and egg yolks.3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the matzo mixture.4. Make the pizzarelle: In a Dutch oven or other large, heavy pot, heat at least 2 inches of oil to 375 F on a deep-fat thermometer. In small batches, drop heaping tablespoons of the matzah mixture into the oil. Fry in batches, turning as necessary, until they are a deep brown on all sides, about five minutes total. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm or at room temperature, accompanied by the honey syrup.Makes about 25.Pistachio Macaroons3 cups (about 1 pound)shelled pistachios1 cup sugar3 egg whites1 1/2 teaspoons rosewater1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease two baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.2. Grind the pistachios with the sugar in the bowl of a food processor, leaving some chunks for texture; transfer the mixture to a large bowl.3. Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry. Gently fold them, with the rosewater, into the pistachio mixture.4. Drop the batter by heaping tablespoonfuls in balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving at least 1 inch between. Bake until lightly browned, 17 to 20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
