So this requires the story of when I made pot brownies with pot infused oil. It was given to me, so I didn't make it and I had no idea how old it was or the potency. Cut to making not very good tasting brownies because I used too much of the oil AND it was very very strong. It tasted like the pot infused oil instead of chocolate and I got WAY sick. So I had to dump them. The point of using weed butter to make edibles for me is not to get high, but to relax my muscles and fall asleep a little easier. This book has a potency chart with micrograms so you can adjust for yourself AND the potency is listed with each recipe. It also has helpful hints about what to do if you make a mistake and get uncomfortably high, which leads to my only irritation- it mentions closing your pores with a cold shower. You can tighten your skin, but your pores are NOT A WINDOW they don't open and shut!!!! Other than that, great book. Totally a great gift, especially for those with cancer or a lot of arthritic pain who do not want to smoke.

I gave this to my brother in law for Christmas, and he's been reporting back that he's really enjoying the book. I read it myself before I gave it to him, but since I don't use marijuana, I have to rely on his expertise. What I was most blown away by in this book is that the actual recipes are really good on their own. I own a lot of cookbooks, so I can recognize a good recipe when I see one. This book isn't just your standard "how to make a weed brownie." There's shrimp and grits, which my brother in law has tried and said was delicious. There's West African Fried Chicken, which I ended up making without the cannabis and loved. There's guacamole. Weed guacamole. BIL said this went over really well at a party. All in all, I'm really impressed with this book. And there are a bunch of instructions at the start for infusing weed into butter via different methods, based on what you have available.

A whole new way to love and appreciate weed butter. This book is indeed a step by step guide to becoming a cannabutter master. We've always had the ability to make the butter but we hardly cook when it comes to regular food, yet alone the extra skills required for weed products but this book helped us master it! I loved everything about this book from it's big beautiful photography to the step by step directions and easy to follow recipes. I LOVED the effects and taste profiles with different strains. LEGIT, who knew!?? It makes so much sense that some strains work better for som taste profiles, but whoda thought. Certainly not these californians. Some wonderful recipes and ideas. Enjoy this book!

This is a great recipe book for cannabis users. The graphics on the cover are very eye catching. Pictures are very clear and look very appetizing. There are 8 chapters in this thin book filled with information infusing cannabis into edibles. The author explains her journey, why to cook with weed butter, the difference between eating and smoking cannabis, ways of infusing cannabis into foods, using different kinds of oils, and finally recipes using cannabis. I like that there are different strengths that can be created to personalize what is needed. Recipes range from breakfast, spread sauces and dressings, main and side dishes, and sweets.

I just wanted to know a few things about the different ways people are cooking with botanicals!!! I’m very pleased with this book, and looking forward to seeing other recipes!!!

I was so excited to order this book for my fiancé, who is a chef. At 7:15am on a Sunday morning Amazon delivery was knocking on my door. Once I opened the package, I realized the weirdest thing. Either the front cover or the actual book pages are upside down. If the cover is right side up the pages are upside down. If the pages are right side up, the cover is upside down. It’s so weird. I searched Amazon and the internet to make sure the book isn’t meant to be like that. I’ve included photos. He probably won’t use this book now because it’s too much effort to tip the book.

This book is quite unique. It’s about former lovers ending up on a train almost thirty years after a horrible break-up. Although there’s barely any dialogue, the writing style is excellent, and it’s a short and quick read. It’s riveting and I simply had to finish it one day. As with any book, it’s won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me it was an engrossing read.

A fast-paced story in which two people reunite on a train many years after breaking up. It's a quick read, but dense in detail and backstory.

Really enjoyed this one. Concise and well-told look into memory musings, internal lives and the interaction that could happen between two people who haven't seen each other in a very long time.

I purchased this book on the recommendation of a facebook post-I really enjoyed it-a quick read-unique setting and storyline-not a typical plot-very good.

interesting read about reflecting on prior behavior in a relationship. fast read. thoughtful.

Interesting take on the thoughts of two former lovers as they ride the train pretending not to recognize each other.

Unusual writing in that it's told in first-person narrative from BOTH of the characters, alternating between them. In the Kindle version, that was a little hard to figure out at first -- there was nothing separating them in terms of a name, and it took me a bit to realize what the author was doing. The story was great. Simple story, that shows how much things like youthful cruelty and lack of consideration for others can damage us (both parties!) and for how long. Without offering anything like a spoiler, I will just say that the ending was remarkable.

Quick read and interesting.

The the rich cast of characters came to life and grabbed me by the throat, taking me into their world of intrigue, mystery, drama and relationships.A brilliantly told story by a gifted storyteller who I hope will fill the virtual shelves of my Kindle with more thrillers in the future.

That was just awesome. I am certain that in the near future the name of Lilja Sigurdardóttir will be one of the most popular in the crime fiction genre. The story is set to Reykjavik and it is the first book of a trilogy titled ''Reykjavik Noir''. The story is interesting, the evolution of the plot is gradual and keeps the reader on edge while feeling nothing but sympathy for the main character, no matter how ambiguous and shady her actions could be. Iceland seems to be at the cutting edge of Scandinavian Crime Fiction for the time being with writers such as Arnaldur Indridason, Yrsa Sigurdardóttir, Ragnar Jonasson and now Lilja Sigurdardóttir. I recommend ''Snare'' to everyone who loves crime fiction and suspense novels.

Wow wow. This book was awesome already but on wish list for the next one. If you like Nordic Noir you will love this. A fast paced action twists and turns you won’t see coming. Consumed in two hours.

But I am learning so much about the underbelly of Reykjavik. I love here now and I had no idea that there was so much crime here. Fascinating read.

So many good reviews? I’m a great fan of Nordic Noir, but I did not like the characters or the story for that matter. I could barely get through it, but I did - hoping it would eventually get better. It did not. I don’t want to get into too many specifics, but there were so many problematic plot lines and some repulsive gratuitous violence and it was boring too.

Loved the book, both as a mystery and as a portrait of Iceland and Icelanders. Not required to go to Iceland first, though!

Read this last night and I had to write a short review now simply because it’s quite unlike anything I’ve read before. The tension, being part of a drugs run. I even feel nervous going through customs anyway so when this woman does knowing she has something illegal in her bag – I can’t imagine! The tricks that both sides use – the smugglers and the officials are quite the eye opener but it’s the conditions that have led this woman to do this are also part of the story.The chapters work well for this story theme as they’re short, compact and they flit from one person’s story to another, one angle of the CCTV camera to another.The novel reads effortlessly thanks to the work of Translator Extraordinaire Quentin and the tension builds and twists until a very fitting ending. But it’s the journey of cool collected Iceland, through the long dark tunnel from the capital to the frozen north that took me on a ride on many levels. It’s going to be part of Hull Noir’s reading focus and I’m not surprised.
