I bought this because it was a requirement for my course. Even though, I was amazed by this book. You can call it a compilation of western literature (from early societies to medieval ones). It contains passages such as the Himm of Athen, to Edipo poems, and worldwide famous literature such as the Odysseus and more.

This Norton Anthology provided college student with necessary reading about the ancient culture and their literature styles. It is a hard subject matter because it is involved with literary terms where one have to deeply analyzed the concept of the theme. The best one of these are on Epic of Gilgamesh, Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and possibly Dante's Inferno. These 4 are popular ones as well as well-known for those who love reading mythology and interesting biblical stories as college student. Warning: These required a lots of in-depth reading and analyzing the topic. Good Luck reading it.

Got charged for extension without being notified of expiration date. Will never rent from ecampus again. Do not recommend.

I have so many of these Norton anthologies as an English major, by now they blur together but all of them are interesting. I like these because they include author bios before most of the literature which helps in class discussions and when writing papers on the literature.

This books is in horrible condition! My college kid will have no choice but to use it as he is taking a minimester during the holidays. It is taped together!

I did what I had to do to get through World Lit. I ended up loving the great stories and history.

 Even wonder what it's like to be an immigrant moving to a new place to look for work, to see and experience a whole new world? The Arrival will tell you the story of someone who made this journey.This beautiful book is designed like a worn out photo album from the past, not sure which past if the photo on the cover is anything of a hint. The book opens to a wall of immigrant photos, just like those you'll see in Ellis Island Museum. Several drawings of immigrant processing, passport pictures, and the "arrival hall" are based on photographs taken at Ellis Island.The story starts with a man putting a photo of his family carefully into his luggage. It's early morning. His wife and daughter are walking him to the train station. The scene cuts to show the town he's leaving from, one that's inhabited by gigantic black tentacles. At the train station, you can see the sadness in the eyes of her daughter, who only manages to break into a sad smile when her dad pulls a paper crane from under his hat to cheer her up. They hug and bid farewell. The train leaves. The mother and girl then walk back home under the shadows of the tentacles.You can tell the tremendous amount of research and thought put in the panels. Shaun Tan has put little nuances and details everywhere, enabling readers to fully immerse themselves in the new world feeling the sense of wonder and foreignness as a new immigrant might. When the man is in the arrival hall of the immigration building, he undergoes the health checkups, questioning by officers on the purpose of his visit before he's approved entry.He finds his job, made new friends and we learn their stories and more of this strange world. The last act ends happily with the man inviting his wife and daughter over. Seeing the joy on their faces as they reunite is so touching. In the last panel, the girl is pointing directions for a newcomer who's lost.My short review just barely scratches the depth of the book. It's really much deeper.This is storytelling at its best. Every panel advances the story. No words are used, and none are needed. Shaun Tan seems to have perfected the art of visual narrative with his surrealistic imagery and believable facial expressions. This book is a fascinating eye opener in every literal sense. It's really an enjoyable read and experience.Most highly recommended.(More pictures are available on my blog. I knew the basic idea of The Arrival, that it was in some way about the immigrant experience, but I had no idea about the approach. And what an approach! I don't know if you would call it metaphorical, magical realist, surreal, or what, but the effect is amazing. There are things here you just won't understand very well, being completely outside of your experience...and this works far, far better than any literal, historically accurate "immigrant story" could, by placing you in the subjective viewpoint of a 'stranger in a strange land'.That's the big scale strategy. But the small scale approach, on a panel-by-panel basis, is equally wonderful. Even before the story really kicks in, and we still seem firmly grounded reality, the first three pages had me hooked. The art is beautiful, and visual story-telling clever and richly emotional.This is really special. It does require a certain commitment and attention to follow along and place yourself in your story, so it may or may not be a good "children's book", but that would depend on the child.

Spectacularly beautiful book that tells the story of immigrating to a new land with strange, unfamiliar customs and creatures. Shaun Tan is a master illustrator with a unique way of seeing the world. There are no words in this book and none are needed. Amazing.

A beautiful, engaging (and diverse) way to tell a story. A great wordless resource when working with a variety of students, and I great "read" all its own for interested readers.

I happened to see this book when traveling--in a bookshop in Cologne, Germany. It contains only pictures, and I was riveted to the spot as I "read" through the frames. When I returned to the states, I read more about the book and the author--and ordered the book. I'm still in awe of how these haunting pictures speak to the alienation that immigrants (or others who are plunged into a totally new situation) experience--all without words. My grandfather was an immigrant from Poland in the late 19th century--how I wish I could show him this book.

I was so anxious for this book to arrive in the mail; I knew it was going to be something magical, just from the few illustrations I had seen. The Arrival is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen, on several different levels. I paged through slowly, savoring each image. Tan often uses a series of small images to convey a thought or a feeling--each is a masterpiece. The book does what so much great art does--it captures the ineffable. It speaks without words, and conveys the universal human experience. The haunting, luminous illustrations seem to cut straight to the heart. It actually brought me to tears, as I recognized in Tan's imagery the small and large moments that animate the soul. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

What a beautiful, exquisite book!!! The author/artist has put his heart into this- captured expressions on his characters, gestures, new worlds, plants, creatures, unfamiliar food to eat, etc. He is SO creative and such a wonderful artist!! It must have taken him so long to draw these scenarios! It is a treasure, one that shows you new things each time you "read" through it.

I've been supporting networks for about 15 years and needed to pick up this certification on the boss's request. I was able to pass the certification with this book alone as my preparatory material. I found the authors extremely engaging as the content is written in a very easily readable way. I didn't feel like they were "dumbing it down" and at the same time, the more difficult concepts were well-illustrated with graphics and examples. They have done an excellent job with use of white space on the pages so you don't feel like you're reading an encyclopedia. You can definitely see different authorship of each of the topics in word choice and style and there were a few places where the authors were not consistent in their description of the topic. It was a rare occurrence; but, it did happen.I have one complaint: This book was horribly edited and appears to be a home-editor job. For a book of this expense, I have an expectation of better editing. It almost became a game to me to spot the improper grammar on the page, find the typo, find the misspelled words, and see if I could get an entire page without finding an error. Before replying to my own grammar mistakes, please take note that I'm not charging you $75 to read my review...and I'm spending a commensurate amount of time in editing my own comments.I don't think there is a better book to prepare you for this exam out there and still recommend it. You'll want to put this on your bookshelf as a reference after the certification as well.

I passed the exam with this book and the CWNA practice tests from CWNP. I would highly recommend both as worthwhile resources. If you can spin up a few APs in a home lab (Unifi AC Lites are a great value) and watch some of the CWNP videos on youtube, you'll be good to go. The end-of-chapter quizzes and the CWNP practice tests will highlight the areas you need to review.I gave this book 3 stars, because while the content is generally solid, the number of typos is unbelievable. There's a typo on almost every page. Every time you spot a typo, you think "I can't believe they didn't have an intern proofread this" and "This book costs 70 bucks". If you can swallow that, the book is a solid technical resource. The information isn't wrong, just unedited.

Passing the exam was made more difficult by this book. Editing is atrocious with repeated sentences, repeated words, misspellings, incorrect examples, and on and on. I frankly think the repeated words and sentences were a means to fill space. This made learning difficult as you will need to re-read the material several times to be able to translate the mistakes into some kind of meaning. The "rules of 10 and 3" tutorial was unnecessarily difficult and wasted so much of my time trying to teach it to myself. Contrast that to the example in the Sybex book which was genius and made sense immediately and was significantly more memorable and easier to repeat.I passed the exam, but I would have had an easier time if I did not read this book but instead used only the Sybex book. Oh, did I mention this author's proclivity for introducing new material without explanation, save for a "read about this new thing in like 4 chapters after this one. So charming to be learning about one silly acronym and then being surprised with another.Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. I'm keeping mine for one single reference item only; the publisher, so every time I buy a technology book, I can be sure I don't buy one published by them.

This book does not do justice for the price I paid. So many spelling errors in an "Official Study Guide". I would suggest everyone to opt for sybex books. The questions in the book are not at all worth it. Very poor

There are so many spelling and grammatical errors it is unbelievable this book sells for $75.

If you pass your test with this book - congratulations - you did it in spite of the author's 3rd grade English education. You'll be so distracted trying to figure out what the spelling or word is meant to be that is becomes difficult to grasp the generally useful technical information in the book. Do yourself a favor and find a better reviewed book that doesn't cost a small fortune.

If you are looking for help in Pharmacology this flash card set is for you. If you are looking for help with NCLEX questions, then I suggest looking elsewhere because you will not get much from this set.

These are paper thing and annoyingly don't fit back in the box when wrinkled.

Should really include a table of contents or something with ALL the drugs and the # (each drug is assigned a number). Excellent that they even included a small ring to attach all the cards unto. I've looked around for these kind of rings and I find they are hard to find.

These were great aid in studying for my nclex

These cards are quite vague for side effects. I spent more time trying to search and make sense of their order than actually studying them. The pack should definitely include and index listing the total drugs and there number for which card. Total waste of money and now I’m past the return period.

These drug cards are just what I need to help study for the NCLEX. I'm not quite ready to take it, but the Barron's cards are an excellent tool for studying. They are the most comprehensive study tool, and I like that they are portable. I keep a good stack of them in my purse and pull them out when I'm waiting for carpool or in line at the coffee place. Great item

There is nothing in this text that you can't find pretty easily on the Internet. The information itself is also fairly outdated. I guess it provides some decent "history" of eCommerce from back in the day (dot.com era) if you weren't already privy to that information. I can see why this is mostly a text used by Business School classes... it is not a serious eCommerce book, but more of an "eCommerce for Managers" type of book.If I were serious about learning more about electronic commerce, I would not use this book to do it.

I bought this text book for a class on Electronic Commerce. This was the only recommended textbook. The class comprised mostly of students from MIS major and also students from a variety of other disciplines like computer science, mechanical, MBA, entre etc.On a first glance, the book covers a good range of topics and also includes a few cases (one page scenarios about companies). The content is so generally written that you would have spent an hour reading a chapter and the amount of information you absorbed would be so little. Most of the information present in this book can VERY EASILY be obtained from wikipedia or a simple google search.From my perception and a little searching, the author is an accountant. He has very limited knowledge of electronic commerce and of computer science, which can easily be inferred from so many instances in the book, where the terminology (especially computer science) is wrongly used. The author does not even have a website, let alone an e-commerce site.To make matters worse, the author has written numerous other books in various niches. Personally, I would call him an opportunist, who rips off hundreds of dollars for every copy sold. It is so sad to see that this book is being sold for over $100. After all, there are no techniques involved, (like an algorithms book) and is just plain information which keeps changing so often. You WILL find all information from this book with a simple web search and/or wikipedia.I prefer to read a book written by someone who has the expertise and knowledge on the field, for instance someone who has been a successful business professional in e-commerce and not by someone who just gathered all the information from the internet and sells it for $100.I was able to convince my professor about the above facts and this book is NO longer prescribed as a textbook.If you pay more than $10, it is a waste of money!

As with all basic or intro textbooks, this author, Gary Schneider, touches on the main aspects of his subject matter.Although I find the information very relevant to the topic, I do not find the presentation an interesting read. It is difficult to have to force myself through a textbook. I know the author has written many editions, and I know this is probably tiring, but he really should take a vacation, clear his head, and come back and begin anew. He and his readers will both likely benefit.As far as pros go, Schneider is thorough. There are many times that I read a sentence, a paragraph, or a section, and feel so pleased that I did. Plenty of golden nuggets of knowledge in this book. Much of the information is valid, current, and important to know. Most of the diagrams and pictorial presentations are excellent. It is only the rather dry written presentation that I take issue with.Lastly, where would we be without Gary Schneider? He brings a lot of knowledge and wisdom to the table. It is a pleasure to learn from someone who has been so entrenched in eCommerce for so long...He just needs to nudge his expressiveness and storytelling into action a bit more.

Honestly, the book is old. The information inside is not up to date. However, it provides decent background of the electronic commerce. It has some information that regular people don't know. If I knew the content of this book before, I would not buy it.

I myself find that reading a physical book on electronic commerce a little comical. The book gets its points across quite well. I didn't really have any problems with the book, but if your teacher isn't assigning work straight out of the book I think you could likely get away with not having it.

Please do not buy this book. The information is slightly outdatedand something you can even conduct a search on. But if you take acourse which needs this book then please educate yourself on webtechnologies using the internet. But do not spend any more than $10on this book. I would rather take an online video course at a corporatetraining jobs center on E-commerce than buy this book.

Really enjoying this textbook ... very informative, but deep. It's not light reading, but very interesting!

This book is a wake up call, and a must read for everyone. I heard about this book many years ago but I never read it. The Lord has been speaking to me alot as it relates to intercession for the world and the urgency for people to get right with Jesus. Reading this book has put a fire in me to share The Gospel more, and be more diligent in speaking truth. People (including the Church) are not dealing with the reality of eternity, and that is sad and scary. I pray whoever has not given their lives to Jesus or have turned their backs on Him, get right with Him today. Time is short...very short...shorter than many want to accept. And it is not Jesus' will for anyone to perish. He loves us all. God bless you.

I got this book from my older brother as a birthday gift. I wondered to myself, why he chose to give me this hell titled book as a birthday present!!!Once I opened the book and started reading it, I could not put the book down (it was on a Saturday) and I stayed up late until I read the very last page. I love the book because it is not just about a woman's experience as she is taken to hell and escorted by Jesus but that her accounts are biblically sound. Some people may read it and be very skeptical about her experience, but I don't see where it contradicts scripture, and I don't sense any contradiction in my spirit.After reading this book, I had a new zeal for evangelism. The summer I read this book, I was able to witness on the bus and persons who were on the streets and see them give their hearts to the Lord without much effort on my part - just the Holy Spirit at work.God created hell for Satan and the fallen angels but those who chose to deny Christ in their lives, have the same fate. God wishes that we chose the salvation He provides with hope for a wonderful future destination - heaven and not hell. I wouldn't wish my worse enemy or the worse human being on earth to go their. I prefer if they repented and serve God the remainder of their days.There is a story she shared in the book that I never forget. It is about a woman, a lay preacher whose husband cheated on her and confessed it to her asking for her forgiveness. She would not forgive her husband or even ask God to help her forgive. Her unforgiveness grows and darkens her heart to the extent that she grew bitter enough to commit murder of her husband and the woman he cheated with and killed herself. She went to hell. It was sad reading it because, she didn't forgive. It is a strong message on forgiveness - even if the person didn't ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness is key to help us free ourselves from deeper evils of the heart.The book is well written and is an easy read. You won't see hell the same way after reading it and you will have more compassion for souls to motivate you to be a better witness for the Lord.

This book was very intriguing. It was as if you were on the journey with her minus the terror of being left in hell without the Lord. It made me feel as though I do not want to do anything to cause me to be sentenced there. She mentioned the horrible smell, the darkness, the souls that were confined to punishment crying out to be released. She even mentioned some of the works they did on earth that caused them to end up there like worshiping Satan and him promising to give them a portion of his kingdom only to be deceived by him because he shares nothing. Check it out, I know people say they don't want to be scared into getting saved but it is better to be scared and get saved than deceived and go to hell.

I've studied the Holy Bible for the past 15 years. This book lines up with Scripture. After the Holy Bible, this book is the most life-impacting book I have ever read - to me it was life-changing in the first degree. Many many thanks for Ms. Baxter joining Jesus on this very difficult tour and having the courage to write about her experiences for the benefit of all people in these last days.I hope everyone reading this review are on the edge of their seats with an attitude of expectancy. Jesus is surely coming at any moment for His perfect Bride, the church who is ready and waiting for Him with their lamps full of the oil of the Holy Spirit, in excited anticipation. It is going to be much harder for the lukewarm church - those now wedded to this world and its entertainments - to make Heaven after the Rapture. For the most part, only those tortured and killed by the Antichrist for not accepting the mark of the beast will make it there.May the Holy Name of Our Saviour Jesus Christ be forever praised !!!Ted S.
