For the most part, I really like this coloring book. There are a couple pages in the front that look like they were made with clipart that was stretched too far. Lol. They are super pixelated. The pages are kind of thin. You can see other illustrations through the pages, but the illustrations are super cute. A good variety of fruits and veggies are featured. I’m sure my toddler will love to scribble in it.

I didn’t expect to get so much amusement from a fruit and veggie coloring book, but I really enjoyed flipping through the pages to see the different foods (some exotic) with big eyes and happy smiles. I had never thought about what a cartoon rambutan may look like and now I know it’s adorable.

My one ur old loves this coloring book. She colors every morning upon waking and likes to color before bed and sometimes throughout the day.I love that they have exotic foods in here as well to teach kids a wide variety of food rather the basic American fruits & veggies we all tend to eat. We knew majority of them but it's nice to learn about new fruits/veggies!! While she colors I look up the nutrition benefits and write it down on the blank page next to it just an idea for those who love to learn & do new things! ;)

For a toddler I found the types of fruit and vegetables odd. Should be more basic. I’ve never heard of most of the names of foods!

Madame Bovary, Flaubert's debut novel, is a masterpiece for a number of reasons. First, it is a stunning and unique exploration of the French Revolution, with each character representing a different idea prevalent at that time - very clever. Perhaps we may lack appreciation of that today, as it's no longer new, but in Flaubert's day, this was extraordinary. However, that's far from the only unique feature of the story.See, Flaubert is perhaps the first solid example of masterful handling of what writers and English professors refer to as Free Indirect Speech. You'll notice that the story opens with an unnamed first person narrator, then, without warning, the story shifts to third person omniscient, having already utterly and completely drawn you into the story. It's brilliant, and even today, Flaubert is the one you'll be encouraged to study if you wish to master writing from this point of view.I highly recommend this story, for philosophers, for writers, and for those just looking for an interesting tale exploring some important truths.

I liked the fact that this text was a paperback and was one of the few that I could find on line for a reasonable price. However, this book was edited extremely poorly. It seems that the format was transferred from some other format. I say this because sentences and even words were cut up, ending early on one line on a page and then recommencing on the next line. For a student of the French language, this was disconcerting since it was difficult at times to discern whether or not the letters at the end of the line were supposed to go with the letters on the next line to create a legitimate French word. I would say that only fluent French speakers should buy this edition since they would be able to readily discern whether or not the word at the end of the line was intact or just split up in a weird way and might be able to put up with the problem in return for the reasonable price. For non-fluent French speakers, I would recommend that they stay away from purchasing this book.

I decided to read Madame Bovary after years of seeing it in lists of classic novels. Having completed it, I cannot in honesty say that I enjoyed every page of it because I found Emma and her husband Charles Bovary to be two of the most shallow people in fiction. Her life is built on romantic notions that she cannot find in real relationships while he seems to exist solely to show us that one can be a doctor while still being dull and stupid. On numerous occasions, I found myself wishing I could give both of them a good swift kick.Then again perhaps the point of the novel is to show us how banal life is when one cannot find anything meaningful beyond oneself. Instead of being tragic, I found the both of their deaths as pointless as their lives. The fact that neither is any worse than the miserable people that surround them is the best thing left to say..In that sense, the novel serves a useful purpose in that it reveals that a full life involves more than satisfying one's own appetites as Emma attempts to do and the folly of basing one's happiness on an unworthy object of adoration as he does. I recommend reading it as forerunner of so much of today's entertainment built on unsympathetic characters facing the consequences of their vapid choices. The art of the novel lies in Flaubert's ability to convey that message without appearing to preach.

Like Lady Chetterly, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and Anna Karenina, Madame Bovary spent her life searching for a happiness that was more idealized than real. However, in the case of Madame Bovary, she found that the happiness that she found in illicit relationships was inadequate to fill the emptiness that she felt in her life.. In addition, the acquisition of material goods that led to financial ruin did not satisfy the the yearning which she would bestow upon her a fuller life.The author did a remarkable job of making Madame Bovary's frustration almost palpable. The frantic life of lies and desperation that she lived in pursuit of her illusive dream manifested itself in a madness that would not even allow her to love her own daughter.Flaubert does an engaging job of instilling in the reader a hope that Madame Bovary would not come to a tragic end. But, as the reader expected from the beginning, it was not to be.

Madame Bovary is a masterpiece of realist fiction.

Given the obsession with fairy tales, happy endings, and love at first sight which has convinced a great deal of people to believe these things exist outside of fiction, Madame Bovary is a refreshing tome. My interpretation and what I choose to focus on in the story would be the notion that people try to fit people into their own lives; making a prince charming for their own love story and producing their very own romantic comedy. This is not to say that those romantic classics are without merit, but Madam Bovary is a valid response to characters who take them too seriously. The prose is not difficult to follow, and it's eventful for the genre it's in. A great read for the practical, cynical, satirical, or anyone who wants an introduction to Flaubert in late 19th century literature.

It is a great investment for an individual studying to become a technician, an enthusiast, or just anyone who wants to learn how today's advanced internal combustion vehicle operates. I am about 1/4th of the way through and feel much more confident in regards to my knowledge of how a vehicle operates as well as the businesses that service them. I picked my copy up used for around $85.00, and I feel like this was a steal for all of the knowledge and experience contained within. A word of advice on textbooks (collegiate and technical); buy used. Do not be the one to take all of the depreciation. This book is not too old either, and all of the information within is timeless. Supposedly a new edition is coming out next year, and usually new editions are nothing new at all, but with how some vehicles have evolved since this books' publication (Tesla), I am interested to see the updates. Another aspect of this book that I really enjoy is that it is not one sided (everything is like a GM product). In addition, the author conveys a positive, warm, and educational tone that is not overbearing or arrogant (he knows that you are attempting to learn). In closing, books will only go so far in a career field like this, but I am studying to become a Lexus Certified Technician and am incredibly impressed.

I use this book as a learning tool and reference when working on my vehicles. Service manuals are pretty good as how-to guides but short on theory. Great explanations, figures, pictures, etc.

Also a good review for my ASE recertification test that is coming up. This book would be excellent for the automotive student learning the basics.This book does not have the specific information you would find in a service manual for a particular car.

I bought this book for a night summer class I took to learn about cars (it was required) but I am very impressed on how much information is in it. It is definitely geared towards people that plan on going into the industry since it has a lot of "how to" interface with customers but it still has plenty of information, and background, on all types of cars.It is structured so that it will describe how a system works, like the brakes, the different types of systems, how to diagnose them, and then how to fix most, if not all, of the problems that come up.

Contains all information you'll ever need for car repair, I use it to study for my Automotive Service classes at school.

We got this book from the library, and likes it so much, we bought a copy of our own! Great use of rhymes, dinosaur names, and also walking through the game, using real terminology. Our 3 year old was able to identify all sorts of things at a real game, after reading this a few times.

This whole series of books on dinosaurs and sports is awesome! A group of kids at my son's school keep checking them out from the library as soon as another one turns it in. I finally started buying them to give to my son for each sports season.My son is 7 years old and can read them. There are some big words just because dinosaur names are long.I have a little difficulty reading them because it seems like you read them fast just because of how it goes. That causes me to have to go back and read it slower just to really get it. And the dinosaur names are sometimes shortened.

I really like this serious of books, my kids will grab them all and I will have to read each one as they lead into the next. My youngest son is into dinosaurs so this series is perfect for him. I like that they rhyme and the creative nature of the stories. I would recommend this book (and the others) to anyone who has kids who like dinosaurs.

What a great book!We initially came across this book in the library. Our little guy couldn't put it down!It is colorful with fantastic illustrations and is cleverly written. This was the perfect book for my grandson (and his soccer enthusiast father).

Kids totally dig it. They get to learn some of the rules in context of pictures with fun Dino’s, awesome!

I use the entire series of her dinosaur sports books to read to and interest first graders but all grades through fourth that I have read to absolutely find them exciting and cheer (silently) for their favorite team. Ms. Wheeler uses the rules and all other parts of the game and halftimes to teach kids about the sport and sporsmanship. I have given the books as well as gifts to various children-all of them have enjoyed them and wait for the newest ones to come out. It is good to read them in order as she builds excitement for the next book at the end.

I got "Dino-Hockey" a couple years ago for my nephews as a gift and they (ages 7 and 4) are addicted to it, so I was psyched to find more dino-sport books. They absolutely love them, and I am a big fan of books and reading, so anything that gets them excited about reading is a major "win" for me. Recommended for rambunctious boys who might appear to prefer video games and sports in general.

My son is 5 and loves dinosaurs and is into sports. These Dino sports books combine his favorite things which makes for a very happy boy! We have all the books in the series and have found each one an enjoyable read. Dino-Baseball is a favorite because it describes everything that happens at a ballpark only with dinosaurs. My son has been to a number of Major League games and was delighted to see things in the book that he has seen at the ballpark. The story is wonderfully told and the illustrations are fantastic. These books bring a smile to everyone's face and are read again and again. We're hoping that Dino-Football is written soon so that we have a dino book for every major sport!

This series of books is WONDERFUL!! My grandkids aged 4 and 7 beg me to read them over and over!! I first found this set of books on a trip to South Africa and have tried to purchase all of them!

Really beautiful illustrations, a simply but well-told story, and a plot that stays fun after umpteen readings--this is great, and I've already added other books in the set to my list. My nieces have loved it ages 2-4+ and show no signs of losing interest.

Super cute story with great illustrations. My almost 2 year old loves this book. The moral of the story is great, too---that being clever is sometimes better than being big.

I bought this for my stepson's 2nd birthday and he loves it! His father is an AVID chameleon lover so this book brings his love of chameleon's into terms that his son can understand. Great shape, great buy!

We started with this book line two years ago when I was TDY to Uganda. We've completed the set via Amazon and have bought different books from sellers all over the world. Our daughter is in love with these books. The stories are funny 'histories' of how and why animals across Africa came to be, act certain ways and interact with each other. They all have fantastic endings and we read & re-read them over and over before bedtime. She has dozens of books for a three-year old and, along with her Little Golden Books, these are her favorites...while she can't read them yet, she can tell you the stories -- cover-to-cover -- simply by looking at the pictures.

I bought this book with high hopes after reading reviews. My almost 5 year old refused to poop on the potty. She would only go in a pull up and after following suggestion after suggestion with no luck I was getting extremely discouraged. That's when I heard of this book and decided to purchase it.It started off ok. It went through explanations on what causes withholding in young children and the psychology behind it, and how to make your child get over their pooping fear. Sounds good, right? Where it completely lost me is when the author gives advice on how to get your child to be more compliant. He says to lock them in a room by themself until they are calm and willing to listen to your demands!! What!?! I follow the peaceful parent philosophy and while I am far from perfect at it, this advice is extreme and harmful. The author lost all credibility after reading that poor advice. I won't even get into his pushing of using repeated enemas on your young child.The reason I give this book a 2 and not a 1 is that reading it did give us the push to get our child fully trained. We did it by letting her where pullups while sitting on the toilet and having a jelly bean reward system (2 beans for trying on the toilet with pullup, 3 for trying without, and 5 for succeeding). After sticking with that for about a month, she is fully trained and we can finally kiss those pull ups goodbye!Bottom line is, book has some bad advice, some of which can be damaging, but managed to give us the push we needed to get her trained. Not worth the money.

I have a MUCH older child - one that happens to be on the spectrum - who is non-verbal and not always compliant. Although some parts in this book are ideas/processes that will not work for my son - it gave me insight on things I may not have considered previously. In reading this book - I knew that my son was more than likely "withholding" - but I did not realize some of the other characteristics, like being lethargic or mood swings could also be contributing to his behaviors and changes. With him non-verbal and unable to express how he is feeling - it's a guessing game. My son does not have the "fear" of the toilet bowl itself - but he does have insanely LARGE BM's that I think "how the heck did he even pass a thing of that size" - so the pain issue of his BM is def a concern and why he would withhold it. Yes, the book repeats itself (but that is how we learn and understand, but repetition so we understand the terminology and so forth)... Again, I can not use EVERYTHING in this book, but I can learn and alter some parts to help with my son. It is also a VERY quick read - I completed it in under 2 hours.

Such a helpful book, I wish I had found it sooner! My daughter had been withholding poop for 2 years her pediatrician was never any help just kept telling me "she'll poop, give her time." That is unacceptable advice when you're 2 old is crying and screaming for a week at a time because she has to poop but is too scared to do it. I tried google and couldn't find helpful information. I read this book and the term functional constipation eas used, suddenly I had a plethora of information from google once I had the correct terminology.Anyway 9 months later we followed the advice on the book and my daughter is no pooping without holding it, she's not crying about it for days. I'm now weaning her from the medicine to see of it is still needed. If you are having poop problems read this book!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this book -- we apparently seem to produce children who have trouble with constipation! :) I really feel like it should be required reading for pediatricians – it describes the problem so clearly and offers many other solutions beyond just adding more fiber and laxatives.As a working mom who has little time to spend reading, the thing I love most is that this book is short, concise and straightforward. It gets right to the problem and solutions using language that I (and my kids) actually understand. Dr. Tom has clearly worked with a LOT of kids with different constipation issues and while not every story or recommendation was applicable to my kids, there are enough different ideas that I could tailor them my children’s issues.For example, our now 8-yr old daughter had trouble with constipation that started at age 3 – HUGE, painful poops and going poop in her pants/skid marks. Our pediatrician kept recommending more fiber and liquid. But this didn’t work because she was withholding (I learned this in the book, not from the pediatrician). We adapted the incentive ideas and charts in the book and that worked well for her. Gave the book away a couple years ago to a friend with similar problems.Our second daughter is 4.5 years old and was recently constantly complaining about tummy aches and wouldn’t poop for multiple days in a row (but not soiling her pants). I have been resistant to using laxatives but I feel better about it after rereading the book and especially after discovering the dosage discussion in Chapter 20 (Ch 20 is written for Healthcare Providers but I think it’s one of the most useful chapters in the book). So far so good: no more tummy aches and pooping almost every day.This book isn’t going to instantly cure your kid (sorry!) but it’s a POSITIVE book that offers helpful education and actionable advice.(Other notes: our kids love Softy the Poop -- also a book by Dr. Tom but for kids! Dr. Tom also has a website which I’ve found useful – I haven’t done it but you can request a phone call with him on the site.)

This book is a great read for anyone looking to expand their understanding of women's roles in Ancient Israel. While Rev. Gafney is Christian, I found her to be completely non-dogmatic. I was actually very surprised to learn she is Christian and not Jewish, based on her writing in this book.As a Kohenet ([...]), this book fit beautifully into the teachings of my religious order and expanded my understanding of certain areas of the text we had studied.I recommend this book to anyone Jewish or Christian looking to explore women's roles and traditions in the Torah.

I am a fan of Gafney's work, but was worried that this piece might not be accessible for "the average consumer." Not the case at all! I use one of her chapters with participants in a church Bible study and, with a little help, the people fully engaged around the material.

This is for certain people and I chose this for my Christian studies. I enjoyed it very much.

This book is unique in its genre. It not only gives a great overview of scholarship about women prophets in the Hebrew Bible, but it offers its own theses including the idea that there are many more female voices than the modern reader recognizes in the Hebrew Bible. Gafney is thoughtful and convincing.

This is an excellent book. It gives a good overview of women prophets in Hebrew scriptures and also in the wider Ancient Near Eastern Environment. The book is well documented and provides great bibliographical resources for those wanting to pursue further research.

The author is certainly readable and follows accepted academic standards for citations, etc. Her thesis is that certain Hebrew plural pronouns and verbs POSSIBLY indicate both females and males in translation. She cites the accepted knowledge about prophetic ministries of both sexes in non-Hebraic cultures of the pre-Israelite ANE. Her introductory commentary on feminist interpetations is quite current and most clear. She promotes a "flexible interpretation" (p.18) of scripture, as well as interpretations about the practicioners of "non-sanctioned inquiry techniques" (p. 24). Much of her thesis rests upon her particular translation abilities and interpetations, and her identification of nuances not evident to Hebraists in the last several centuries. In NIV Ex 38:8 we read "8 They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting." The author translates "women" as "warriors" and is certainly not ambiguous in asserting: "In keeping with the martial range of tz-b-' and the desert-sanctuary context, I translate hatzov'ot asher tzaue'v as 'the women-warriors stationed'" (p.154). On the same page, the author claims: "I found it highly likely that their mirrors, mar'ot, were used a signaling devices in combat, making the women a Bronze Age Signal Corps.." If the author's conclusions from the tenuous premises arouse you, then you will undoubtedly like this book. If they don't, then....
